It is all the more disappointing when a restaurant is not good and it is date night. The night was super hot and we got a seat in the restaurant which was nice, but it was right next to the open patio door so while it may have been a bit cooler where we were we still had the flies to contend with. I may have been able to oversee some of this, if the food had been better, but it was not. My mussels were over cooked and the broth was so salty that it was barely edible. My scallops were ok, but nothing to exciting...at least they were not over cooked. The desset was good, but it would be hard to screw that up, I would think. The Italian Basil Mojito I started the night with was really nice and may have been the highlight of the evening. Overall, I was disappointed and would not recommend it to anyone. |
I was lukewarm on Acqua. The caprese salad was good but not the best I’ve ever had. The tomatoes were great, but the cheese was average and I really expected and missed the traditional basil. The Bolognese pasta was good, and I would be happy to make that at home. But it was nothing out of this world worth driving across town for. The butterscotch budino was okay. At the three course fixed price, these selections were not a bargain. If you go, it’s crowded on weekends and parking is difficult especially in summer. This could be a good place for a few drinks and appetizers sitting outside near the lake on a nice summer night. |
