Sadly I was not all that impressed with Amu Madras. I think whenever I go into this space I think of the great restaurants that have been housed here. Amu Madras did not live up to expectations for me. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish? I ordered the Chilly Gobi which was deep fried cauliflower in a spicy sauce. The sauce was not spicy at all, however I thought the cauliflower was well done. The naan we had on the side was fine, but nothing great. Steve's dish was better than mine, but again it did blow my mind or even make me want to dip my piece of naan in the sauce. There are many better Indian restaurants in the city. |
The service was a little off the night we went to Amu Madras. We left with a fussy child, and I forgot to take a takeout menu to remember exactly what we had. To my recollection, I had the Paratha/korma, which I remember being good but not outstanding. This is good quality Indian food, and really good bread, but not worth driving a long distance for. It was a little disappointing because the Udupi Cafe staff is behind the restaurant. I would like to go back to try it again at some point, but I'm not in a hurry to do so. |
