This place is a trip. It is housed in a normal looking building with these really cool sky lights that are made out of stained glass. It could be best described as a family restaurant. They also bus people from their restaurant to various goings on in the metro area. It seems to be a great place that has the idea of community spirit. The food is good basic food. The kind of food that people are not going to hate and will be fine with eating before they and there 50 friends and community members hop on a bus to the Ordway. Appetizers are huge meant for four, most reasonably. I was not fond of the appetizer because it was sun dried tomato paste and butter spread on the bread with a huge layer of cheese on it. So it was really much more like cheese bread than bruschetta. My entree was not too bad, I was kind of expecting something that would taste like Stroganoff, but it was in a garlic cream sauce so it was much different. I could only eat about 1/3 the portion they gave me and I am not a light eater. The apple crisp was not that great, but it was $2.75, with ice cream so I am not sure how I can complain. I can not highly recommend it, but I do have to applaud it for the community service it seems to provide. |
