Smokeless Brew pub in and old Chinese restaurant. What a concept. I was not sure what to expect, but turned out it was really pretty good. They had very innovative food.
For an appetizer we had the Zucchini and Portabello Mushrooms these were coated and fried and served with marinara sauce. This was a very good variation on the normal fried cheese at bars. They might have been a bit thinner and crispier and a cream based sauce like a ranch or even their great tarter sauce may have been better than the marinara.
The salad was a good mix of lettuces and the dressing was homemade and very good. The fish and chips were very nice. The coating was very good and light. The catfish was a great choice for fish and chips. The fries were good and seemed to be freshly cut and made. The pie was wonderful, the crust was the best I have had in a long time and maybe even ever.
Overall, being so close to my home, I would go back every now and again to see what they are doing. I understand the menu changes once in a while.
A smoke-free brew pub. Amazing. I just regret that I was on allergy medication and was not able to sample some of their beer. We shared the pan-fried portabella and zucchini. I felt the portabella was excellent, but the zucchini was flat in the same batter. I also had the chunky cream of mushroom soup, which was o.k. I expected a lot more out of it, but it was adequate.
The salmon was very good. At first I balked at the price, then Renee told me that it was a rare salmon, only available certain times of the year, and that other restaurants priced it higher. While the salmon was good, the basil cream sauce did not blend with the salmon, nor did the sauce have an outstanding flavor on its own. Overall, they have some room for improvement.
