  • Cowboy Bison Burger 7 ounces of lean bison patty smothered with smoked BBQ sauce & fried onion straws $9.95 (+$2.00 substitute sweet potato fries)

I really liked Burger Moe's. They had a great location, plenty of space and a great patio. Being a burger place they were very kid friendly, which was also a plus.

My burger was great, I had never had a bison burger before. I really liked it. It tasted more meaty to me than a traditional burger. The option of sweet potato fries was great and they were done well.

  • Juicy Moe Burger Our signature burger with a cheesy, onion-filled gooey center. extra napkins required! $9.50 (+$2 extra for onion rings)

Burger Moe's is another in the long line of upscale burger joints. It's as if everyone in the Twin Cities restaurant business said at the same time, "We can maintain our margins on burgers, so let's try that." And consumers on limited budgets followed right along. The casual atmosphere and liquor licenses have made it an acceptable alternative when going out to eat. But I often think that these places will lose their steam at some point, when people realize that they're just as happy with a burger at a fast food restaurant like Culver's.

Anyhow, if you are looking for an upscale burger joint with fantastic outdoor seating, Burger Moe's on West 7th Street is a great alternative. The Juicy Moe burger is a variation on the Juicy Lucy, and Burger Moe's delivers a high quality burger. I still prefer the version at Matt's Bar, but Burger Moe's comes close. The Juicy Moe deserves to be in the conversation among the best Juicy Lucy's in the Twin Cities. The onion rings are thick cut and delicious. It's an extra $2, but worth it if you like onion rings.

The web site features young wait staff, and they are young, but they are also well-trained and professional. The web site touts a separate beer menu (!) with over 60 beers. But it so happened that the one on the list that I really wanted to try was not in stock. This really made me wonder why have the beer menu on line if you're not going to keep it up to date. The night we went, some rain had passed through and it was turning into a beautiful evening, which would be fantastic for sitting on the spacious outdoor patio. Oh yes, and there's parking in back (that must fill up quickly on event nights).
