• Pollo Asada $5.75

One of my favorite things about living in a bigger city is right down the street I can go to Ecuadoran restauant. I have actully been to Charly's a couple of times, but we finally decided to go on a evening and review it.

The first time I went to Charly's I had the chicken asada, and it was one of the those dishes that is so good that it is hard to order anything else, so I haven't. Luckily Steve ordered a different dish which was very good, so I got to try something new. The chicken really is as good as it gets, it is juicy, crispy, and flavorful. The sides of beans and rice are very good, the french fries vary. On the night of this review they were not that great and usually they are not the highlight of the meal.

For the price Charly's really can not be beat.

Charly's Polleria is an excellent restaurant based mostly on value, but also on taste. Charly's Polleria is a small neighborhood place with several TVs reminiscent of many other Latin American restaurants we've been to.

What Charly's lacks in ambiance , it makes up in flavorful, authentic cooking. The Churrasco was a steak and two eggs entree served with rice, beans, fries and grilled vegetables. The beans and grilled vegetables were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The steak was a little tough and the eggs a little rubbery. The below average fries could have been left off and it still would have been plenty of food. Overall, the good food outweighed the bad, and I can't help but root for Charly's success. This is one of those neighborhood places you hope make it work a long time.
