  • Coconut Shrimp $10

This was actually our second visit to Chimborazo, we failed to review it quickly enough and forgot what we had ordered, but it was easily good enough to go back to so we did.

Both visits were on Sunday evenings and the first visit was super busy...packed even. On this visit there were a couple of other tables, which was still good for Sunday. I had the coconut shrimp which was shrimp over rice with this really good coconut cream sauce on it. On the other visit I had there potato pancakes which was good as well, but much more of a breakfast meal, so if you are craving breakfast in the evening you have choices here.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant and we are lucky it is in our neighborhood!

  • Seafood Fried Rice $12

This was our second trip to Chimborazo. Our last few months have been busy, and we have neglected to keep up with reviews. Our apologies. The lesson is to do things while they're fresh in your memory lest you forget to them.

We enjoyed both our meals at Chimborazo and heartily recommend it. The only caveat is that their entrees that look more like breakfast are not as good as their entrees that look like dinner. When I had the churasco with egg and rice, it was fine, but only standard, and the steak was on the tough side and not quite as good as other places (like La Gran). But the seafood fried rice was outstanding. The shrimp and scallops were perfectly cooked, and there were even a few tasty little calamari and lime slices on the side. The portion size was generous, and the fried rice was fresh. The price was a real bargain.

Our son enjoyed the beef hot dog and fries when we were there. He's your normal kid -- a hot dog and ketchup fanatic. But he might be the only kid I know who doesn't really get into potatoes in any of their incarnations, even French Fries. He'll suck the ketchup off of the fries and then double and triple dip the slobbery mess. It's enough to make you lose your appetite. We'll give it some time and hope we can correct this behavior eventually.
