Luckily it was a beautiful day in Stillwater the day we decided to go to the Frieghthouse as we had the opportunity to sit on the Patio, which was the best part of the meal. They were very busy, so many people felt the same way obviously and there were many people having dinner. Interestingly, there were many people having dinner inside as well which after my meal puzzled me a bit.
You may ask what possessed me to order a torpedo sandwich? I am not entirely sure, except you rarely see them on the menu and when I was young my father owned a bar and on Saturday's after Fat Albert I could come out and have sandwich from the bar. He had those kind that were in plastic wrap that he would put in a little oven and serve it hot. The Torpedo kind were my absolute favorite. I was off to a great culinary start. I am positive that these sandwiches were not good, if I had one today I would not adore it and call it the best food ever, but I bet I could eat the whole thing, which was not the case at the Frieghthouse. I will go into no more detail than to say it was terrible.
The potato skins were ok, nothing great, but edible. Steve had better luck with his Lasagna which is what kept this restaurant from a poor rating. I know my review is going to do nothing to stop the flocks of people from going there, they have a great location and a great patio and maybe I just ordered the exact wrong thing. However, Stillwater has some great restaurants in their town and I would choose one of those instead.
