Heartland 2.0 is even better than the first version. Mainly because the space is much nicer, both larger (could be a good group place) and cooler (if you like the old space converted into a restaurant feel). The food is amazing as it was before. It even helped me forget that my back hurt which was a major accomplishment, the wine may have helped with this as well, of course. I chose to go with the Fauna menu mainly because I really wanted to try their gnocchi. It was amazing. From the gnocchi themselves to the cream sauce and goat cheese. I could have ate five bowls of it. The salad was very nice. A nice light starter to the much richer entree. The dessert was a beautiful ending. I would go back in a second. It is worth the drive from anywhere in MN. |
I cannot say enough good things about Heartland. Every course was exquisite. We had excellent service. We had an excellent table. The dining room was lively. The restaurant space was outstanding. This is still one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities, and the new location makes it a great destination restaurant. |
