This is another great spot at Mercado Central. The food was very good. My Tamales were light and tasty, the side of beans were good, the rice was adequate. Our son really enjoyed the action of the food court eating area and in that light it was a great place for kids. |
The chicken chimichanga at Restaurante El Huachi in Mercado Central is good. I liked the cheese inside the chimi, which seemed like a queso blanco; that is, it didn’t melt and had a soft, firm consistency and a smooth flavor that complimented the chicken. I’ve had better chimichangas, but this one was alright, and available at a nice price. It was served with a small side salad that was surprisingly fresh for late April. I’m still a bigger fan of Manny’s Tortas in Mercado Central. But either way, if you haven’t been to Mercado Central, it is worth the trip. It’s a whole other world, like a slice of Mexico in Minnesota . The ambiance is food court, so this makes a good fifth or sixth date type of place. |
