Jalsa fast food was good, it was based on Chaat which is a road side food cart type of meal that you might be able to get in India. It is fast food style service in you order and pick up when called. It is attached to a grocery store so it is a bit louder than most restaurants which is fine in our case. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed my chickpeas and Steve's Chicken was really amazing. I thought the samosas were above average and everything was spicy especially for average American palates, but I really liked it.

This place is really really good and tucked away in a strip mall in Hilltop with the marvelous Dong Yang Korean grocery and deli. What I like about it best is that the prices are so affordable and the food so fresh, that it's hard to complain if the surroundings are spartan. It's connected to an Indian grocery, a good sign but not a guarantee. In Jalsa's case, the food is plentiful and spiced just right. This is a place to consider on a second date before going to The Heights for a movie - not exactly high class, but you'll learn quickly if your date is high maintenance.
