Kieran's is a great downtown bar, but not as great as a restaurant. The food I had was fine, but not great and the a little expensive for even the downtown surrounds. Especially the pretzel which was a very small pretzel for 6.99. Now it did have two dipping sauces which was nice, but for 6.99 you need to give me at least a decent size pretzel. My salad was fine tasting and it was a nice seasonal salad with roasted squash, ham and cheese. The dressing was fine, but nothing great. Overall, I may come back for drinks sometime, but not to eat.

My meal at Kieran’s was better than the overall fair rating. But a stale, microwaved pretzel at a premium price is inexcusable, so I understand the overall rating. I liked my steak and mushroom pie. It was decent quality beef, and everything worked well together. The price was reasonable. Kieran’s will always be an Irish bar first, so they should do well especially in summer near Target Field, but the food can be hit or miss. |
