Renee's Side | Steve's Side |
Everybody has heard of Kincaid's and what a great place it is for steak and a night out. Steve chose
to go here for his birthday which meant that I had to make reservations, luckily I called several weeks in advance
because they only had a few tables left when I called. They are a special occasion restaurant and they
know it, when you make reservations they even ask if you are celebrating something special. When we arrived
they had a birthday card for Steve which wished him a happy birthday and thanked him for choosing Kincaid's. They know what they are doing. |
From top to bottom, this is a top ten restaurant in the Twin Cities area. When most restaurants charge for salad a la carte, Kincaid's includes bread and salad in the price of the entree. You would be hard-pressed to find a better eight-ounce filet. Their only fault, one they share with many restaurants, is charging too much for a side of mushrooms with the steak. I love mushrooms, but it's hard to swallow $5.95 for a side order. For dessert, Renee and I shared the creme brule and a slice of key lime pie. Both were very good and priced appropriately. As with any of the top restaurants in the Twin Cities, reservations are highly recommended. Service was not extraordinary, but good considering every table was taken. The open-air style of the restaurant reminded us of a hotel restaurant. Kincaid's is located in an office tower in Bloomington, which we did not expect from a restaurant this highly regarded. There is ample parking in adjacent parking ramps. |
