Kindee is a great place to go before/after the Gutherie and from the looks of the crowd on Sat at 5pm people are doing just that. I was not excited about my green curry. I felt like is was missing the sweetness that currys usually have, it was not terrible, just not one of the top I have had. I was also a little disappointed in their refusal to do a 1/2 order of veggie stir fry for our son. I know we have a kid so buck it up, but I can't think it would have been that hard and we would have paid more than 1/2 for it. But either way the value on it at $11 was a little high. Overall, I think I would not make a trip to go there, but if you are in the area and are feeling like Thai, I would check it out.

We started with some very good fresh shrimp rolls that were priced right. Like last week, Renee had the green curry. Then again, I was going to order it, but let her instead. How chivalrous (right!). Anyway, it does provide a good comparison because the green curry again did not meet the best Thai in the Twin Cities. Then again, I really loved the Panang. All the spices were blended just right to make a delicious combination. The restaurant had high chairs, but no kid’s menu and would not make a ½ order of the stir-fried vegetables for us. The price for a full order of stir-fried vegetables was crazy – it should be lowered to be less than the other dishes. Even though it was overpriced, we were happy that we ordered a separate full order for our son, and we had leftovers to take home. To summarize, it’s hit-or-miss with entrees. I loved the Panang and would like to go back to try the red curry or the roast duck curry. Pass on the green curry. Only order the stir-fried veggies if you’re really trying to play safe with Asian food. Nevertheless, at this price point, this is a great pre- or post-Guthrie option. Plus, you score points with your Guthrie date by showing that you’re willing to go to Thai and (somewhat) adventurous. |
