This is the place to go if you are having an affair. We have walked by many times and there does not seem to be many people there ever. To be fair, it is a hotel and a jazz bar so maybe things don't get started until later at night. When we arrived there was one other table and maybe one joined us while we are there. Definitely not the place to go to be seen.

The mushroom appetizer was excellent, the spinach salad sucked and the tuna and noodles was a great version of tuna hot dish which I had for leftovers a couple of days after as well. The coconut torte while not terrible was not that good and was decorated really weirdly almost to the point of making it taste worse.

I would not go back, nor recommend it to anyone, except those of course who are trying to keep a relationship secret.

My recommendation for Cafe Luxx: go for the drinks, jazz, and appetizers. The beer-battered mushrooms were quite good. Though the dipping sauce tasted like cheese whiz (in a good way), Renee assured me that it was a béchamel sauce that the restaurant created.

After that, it went downhill. Nothing was particularly awful; it’s just that nothing seemed inspired or outstanding. It’s not worth going into all the details. Suffice it to say that there are plenty of better restaurants in the Twin Cities, especially downtown Minneapolis.
