Nala Pak is the same location of Udupi which was easily one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Actually before that there was one of the best Korean restaurants in the city in the same space...this location must have some good feng shui or maybe bad feng shui since the restaurants in the end close. In any event it was going to have a hard act to follow.

Luckily it followed with no problem. Nala Pak is now arguably one of the best Indian restaurants in the city with two others being further south on Central...Bombay Deli and Hyderabad. I really enjoyed the appetizer which was light and nicely spiced. My entree was also perfect, creamy, seasoned beautifully and overall well prepared. I craved both the next day.

I am hoping Nala Pak has a better fate than the last two restaurants and it stays open for many years to come.

  • Dal Palak Spinach And Lentil Curry Garden fresh spinach cooked with lentil and mild spices Served with Rice $9.99

I am entranced by Nala Pak. From the deeply rich breads to the simple sauces, Nala Pak is delightful. I was enamored by everything we had there and can’t wait to return. I could agree that the Special Potato Bonda was somewhat normal, but everything else was extraordinary. I have a new favorite Indian restaurant in the Twin Cities. Indian is not an easily accessible cuisine, and really good Indian food is hard to find. Nala Pak succeeds even though it is vegetarian and many of the dishes are vegan (Nala Pak may also be one of the best vegetarian-only restaurants in town, too).

The location is blessed with good karma. From an ordinary Pannekoeken to the extraordinary Jang Won (Korean) to the superextraordinary Udupi Café to the equally super duper Nala Pak, the location is blessed with good fortune. Or maybe we’re fortunate to have dined at each restaurant. Find your way to Nala Pak and you may find yourself craving Indian food again and again.
