Oddfellows is one of those places you like to go to every few months just to see what’s new on the menu. Maybe I should start a list of such restaurants, because there are several good restaurants like this that change their menu regularly and always seem to have something tasty. The appetizer tasted excellent, but it seemed expensive for what was served. That must be the price for a unique appetizer alternative. My pork tenderloin was perfectly done, juicy, tender. It was everything you could ask for from a pork tenderloin. It was set on a bed of mashed potatoes, a soft, fluffy bed. Strangely enough, that night, the star was the grilled asparagus. It was fresh and in season, I had a craving for fresh vegetables, and the asparagus fit the bill. We were both less-than-impressed with the desserts, which hurt the overall rating. I would still put this on the better side of good. If they keep working at it, they will be an excellent restaurant. With their good location in a trendy neighborhood, I only hope they don’t rest on their laurels and milk the profits. |
