Pad Thai is actually a restaurant I have been to before long, long ago. But I had totally forgotten about it. I remember liking it fairly well back then, but at that time, I had not really had real thai. Now that I have, I am not nearly the fan. I had the Walleye in a red curry, it was not spicy, and it was way to sweet. The spring roll was not memorable. However they have a great location and the portions are good so I am sure they will continue to do business for many years to come. |
Pad Thai is a decent neighborhood place to get a Thai fix in a nice atmosphere. The atmosphere is a nicer Asian restaurant with clientele you would expect on Grand Avenue near Macalester College. I liked the standard spring rolls, and my Thai Red Curry Pasta contained a good balance of spiciness and flavor. If you go too much off the beaten path, the food can be below average. And even with their good dishes, there's so much better out there that Pad Thai can seem average. |
