  • crispy calamari tossed in garlic and spicy pepper mix $11 (shared)
  • Chilean sea bass Prepared grilled with lemon-garlic oil or blackened Served with seasonal vegetables, tomato marmalade and grilled lemon $30
  • Banana cream pie $8

Redstone was not quite what I expected. For some reason I expected a bar and grill, which it was, but the prices were more toward the fine dining restauant than bar and grill. So after I looked at the menu I felt a bit weird having our son there, but there were plenty of other kids there so not a big deal I guess. I was just glad he is not old enough to eat his own entree.

I did feel it was a bit expensive for what the food was, and I am not sure if it is because it has been a long time since I have been to places that serve this kind of fare and prices have just risen and so I need to deal with it or if this was a bit more than needed to be, but because of their location they are doing fine..

That all said, I actually enjoyed my meal very much, the calamari was one of the best renditions I have had. The sea bass was perfectly cooked. The seasonal veggies were a bit of a disappointment, but overall suprising good for what I expected. The banana cream pie was a complete disappointment, but that was just one component, and really I probably did not need dessert.

I guess if you are wealthy than this would be a great bar and grill to go to, however while the food was good, it was hard to really recommend.

  • Kobe burger gruyere cheese, yellow tomato, topped with crispy onions $16

Redstone Grill may be a good alternative from the other chains surrounding Ridgedale. It may be a good spot to have a drink and watch a game in the bar. It may be a good spot to meet people who want a good variety on the menu. Otherwise, I found Redstone Grill not-so-adventerous and not worth driving across town for.

The calamari was somewhat spicier than we expected. It was a generous portion, fresh, with good flavors. But the dipping sauce detracted from the calamari and was not that great on its own either. The price on the calamari was more than we have seen at other similar restaurants. The kobe burger was cooked perfectly and flavorful. Iím not a kobe beef connoisseur yet, and this was my first time ordering it. So I really couldnít tell the difference between kobe beef and really good non-kobe beef, but maybe Iíll learn to appreciate the difference over time. The addition of crispy onions detracted from the flavor, more soggy than crispy, and the yellow tomato was not very good either. There was a lot of so-so fries that I could not finish. The banana cream pie was large, standard quality, and also overpriced. Across the board, Redstone Grill charges as if they are an innovator when they are really a follower.
