Tavern on France is great if you have lots of picky eaters. Here you can "Build Your Own" Burgers, Salads and Pizzas. This adds up according to their website to "over 200,000 Pizza, 400,000 Salad and 700,000 Burger Combinations". Wow pretty awesome if that is your kind of thing. It is not my kind of thing. I "build my own" all week long, so by the time I get to a restaurant I prefer to have someone do the thinking for me as to what may or may not go well together. Sometimes this works...I have discovered many new, enjoyable combinations this way. However, sometimes it doesn't work at all or as well. This is the case here. My wrap tasted like a wrap that I could have gotten from any food service line. Steve's ravioli was very garlic heavy which seemed to work for him, but I thought it was a bit overpowering and I really like garlic.

I had very low expectations going into Tavern on France. I could see another concept restaurant, another place with gourmet burgers (they have one called the ‘Widowmaker’), another bar and grill. But Tavern on France was not terrible, and so it exceeded my expectations. I ordered the baked ravioli with chicken, which must have been one of the right choices on the menu. I could see someone going there once, ordering the baked ravioli with chicken, and ordering it every time they went there because it is safe. This is more of an everyman’s restaurant than a foodie’s choice. They should franchise this concept, because it would do well (build your own burger, build your own pizza in a table service restaurant). |
