This bar restaurant on Grand Avenue was a pleasant surprise. They of course like
most bar/restaurants served portions way too big for one, but the food itself
was good and the prices affordable. The kitchen had a little problem with timing. My salad came before the
appetizer and then when the appetizer came I don't think I got two bites in before our entrees arrived. I had the deep fried
walleye which I thought was a bit bold for them to serve considering that Tavern on Grand and their world famous walleye is just down the street.
But as it turns out, I think that Wild Onion's Walleye, just out of the oven still piping hot beats Tavern on Grand's. Once it gets cold, well that another story.

The Wild Onion is a typical bar and grill. By the time I had the appetizer, the soup, and part of the pizza pasta bake, I was stuffed. Needless to say, they had large portions. While the wait staff was very pleasant, the kitchen seemed to have a timing problem. We received the appetizer, soup/salad, and entrees in rapid succession. Yes, we would go back. This seems like a good place to meet friends for drinks and an appetizer that feeds four to six people. |
