One of the new restaurants in the downtown Minneapolis area. This was unique for me because I went there for lunch and the within a week I went there for dinner and reviewed it.

I thought the appetizer was great. It had wonderful tastes and the seafood was cooked well. The Caesar was normal it had shaved parmesan which is always a plus. For an entree I had the monk fish which was a little bland. The fish however was done to perfection. For lunch I had the walleye for an entree that day it was sesame encrusted with mashed potatoes and a vinaigrette. It was wonderful one of the better preparations of walleye I have had. For dinner they offered a procini encrusted walleye which I almost had, but the serve sold me on the monk fish.

I had the chocolate cake for dessert. It was very good, not quite as good as similar chocolate cake I have had at Morton's, La Belle Vie and Aquaviet, but it was also less expensive than those as well.

There wasn't anything to dislike about Zelo, except maybe the prices. Zelo is located in a nicely decorated, trendy location on Nicollet Mall in Downtown Minneapolis. Areas of the restaurant can be noisy because it is an open area with high ceilings.

We took the waiter's recommendation and ordered the Shrimp and Diver Scallops. Scallops became Scallop. It tasted good, but I wonder about the $10.95 price. I know, I know, it's Downtown, but $10.95?

We also split an uninspired Caesar salad before the main course. I had the Farfalle with gorgonzola, Pancetta and mushrooms. I was warned that the cheese was strong, and I can usually handle strong flavors, but it overpowered the dish by the time I finished. The Cheesecake-Pumpkin Terrine was good. It was unique and well prepared.

We probably would not go back for dinner; there are better options downtown.
